If you’ve ever searched for ways to make money online, you’ve probably noticed how difficult it can be to separate genuine opportunities from empty promises. New apps, websites, task platforms, and investment schemes appear all the time, often claiming that you can make easy money with little effort.
Some are legitimate. Many are not.
That’s why I created HustleIQ.
What Is HustleIQ?
HustleIQ is a website focused on helping Nigerians find legitimate ways to earn money online while avoiding platforms that waste their time or put their money at risk.
I research and review online earning opportunities from a Nigerian perspective, including survey sites, AI training and data annotation jobs, task platforms, freelancing opportunities, watch-and-earn apps, and other online side hustles.
A platform can be completely legitimate and still be a poor choice for someone in Nigeria. It may not accept Nigerian users, have very few available tasks, offer inconvenient payment methods, or make withdrawals difficult.
That’s why I look beyond the earning claims.
How I Research and Review Platforms
I don’t simply repeat what a platform says about itself.
When possible, I test platforms myself and look at the things that actually matter to someone trying to earn online.
Depending on the platform, this can include:
- Whether Nigerians can register and use the platform
- What tasks or earning opportunities are actually available
- How much users can realistically earn
- Minimum withdrawal requirements
- Payment methods available to Nigerians
- Whether the platform requires users to deposit money
- Referral and upgrade requirements
- Withdrawal experiences and complaints from users
- The company and domain behind the platform
- Terms, policies, and other information published by the platform
- Reviews and reports from independent users
For platforms I identify as having serious warning signs, I explain what those warning signs are and why they matter instead of simply telling you to “stay away.”
I also try to distinguish between a platform that is legitimate but not worth your time, one that has serious red flags, and one where there is enough evidence to reasonably conclude that it is a scam.

Freelancing and online work: Platforms and opportunities that can help you find paid work online without relying on unrealistic “get rich quick” promises.
Online scams: Investigations into suspicious websites and apps, including the red flags that can help you recognize similar schemes yourself.
My Approach
I don’t believe in promising easy money.
Making money online takes time, patience, and sometimes a lot of trial and error. My goal isn’t to convince you that every platform will make you rich. It’s to give you enough useful information to decide whether something is worth your time.
If I find a platform that genuinely pays, I’ll tell you what I like about it and where it falls short.
If I find a platform that doesn’t deliver what it promises, I’ll explain why.
And if I come across something that looks like a scam, I’ll show you the evidence behind that conclusion.

I’ve spent years researching online earning opportunities and testing different ways to make money online. Much of that research has focused on platforms available to people in Nigeria, where payment methods, location restrictions, task availability, and withdrawal options can make a significant difference.
HustleIQ grew out of that experience.
I started the site because I wanted a place where people could find practical information about online earning opportunities without having to rely entirely on exaggerated income claims or promotional content.
I’m not here to pretend that every opportunity works for everyone. I’m here to research them, explain what I find, and let you make a more informed decision.
Our Editorial Standards
HustleIQ aims to keep its reviews independent and evidence-based.
I don’t consider a platform legitimate simply because it has a professional-looking website, thousands of downloads, or people promoting it on social media. Likewise, I don’t label something a scam without explaining the reasons for that conclusion.
When information is based on my own testing, I make that clear. When I rely on user reports, public records, app-store reviews, or information provided by the platform itself, I try to make that distinction clear as well.
Because online platforms can change their rules, payment methods, and availability, older articles may be updated when new information becomes available.
If you spot something that needs correcting, I’d rather know about it than leave outdated information on the site.
